Support Bob & Jane Grotluschen due to Boulder Fire

Bob and Jane Grotluschen lost their family home of 50 years in the Marshall Fire on Dec. 30, 2021. They were only able to get out with their two dogs and the clothes on their backs. Their home and outbuildings were completely destroyed. Thankfully, their longhorn steer, Hammie, and many of their 40 chickens were able to escape with the help of ranchers who live nearby.
Jane moved to the property with her college roommates when they first moved to Boulder to teach after graduating from Penn State. Bob and Jane met while teaching at Heatherwood Elementary where he was the 6th grade teacher and she was the PE teacher. Bob would always flirt with Jane when he dropped his students at the gym. They eventually married in 1973 and bought the little house Jane had been renting with her friends. When their daughter, Susie, was born in 1976, they tore down everything but the old sandstone room (a former coal mining office) then Bob designed and built their home with the help of friends and family. It was a slow process; they slept in every room in the house during construction and finally completed the upstairs master suite in the late 80s. They finished and improved the home, outbuildings, gardens and pastures with their own hands. Bob and Jane planted every tree, dug every fence post, and built every retaining wall on their property. Their labor of love was completed all while raising their children and grandchildren in their little piece of paradise.
Any support you can provide is greatly appreciated and will assist Bob and Jane during these trying times. All funds raised will be used to replace property lost in this fire and rebuild their family home.
