Bob Hansen Needs Your Help: Heart Healing

We are the University of Toledo's Cath Lab team and we are starting this go fund me on behalf of our coworker Bob Hansen.

On Sunday, Jan. 12th it was discovered Bob had severely damaged heart valves due to an infection. He was sent immediately to Cleveland Clinic on life saving support and went into a 9 hour operation on Tuesday Jan. 14th. They replaced his aortic valve and repaired his Mitral and Tricuspid valves along with placing a pacemaker. After his stay at Cleveland Clinic he transferred back to UToledo's rehab. Bob was very weak from his surgery but was working hard and was making good progress in gaining his strength back. He was released On February 13th to go home.

On February 19th, Bob came back to UTMC with a stroke affecting his speech and right hand. It was discovered that the infection is still in his heart, despite 4 plus weeks of IV antibiotics and the aortic valve is failing. He will be returning to Cleveland Clinic, most likely undergoing another open heart surgery.

His wife Jackie has had to take off work to be in Cleveland with Bob. As you can imagine this is putting a strain on their family. Hotels, travel, eating out can be very stressful. We are raising funds to help cover those expenses. This will help relieve some of the stress for them.
