Good day, all. We are writing to you today to ask for help for our brother in Christ, Bob Bohanon. Many of you know Bob, his wife, Malvina, and their granddaughter, Scarlet, for whom Bob and Malvina provide custodial care. Sadly, Bob’s cancer has returned. He will need aggressive and long-term treatment.

Bob is a veteran, and while medical costs will be covered, because of his condition, Bob needs treatment at Duke Medical Center in Durham. His treatment will be five consecutive days of chemotherapy and radiation (weekends off) for approximately three months. Our goal is to be able to provide assistance to Bob for costs that medical insurance does not cover, specifically a place to stay in Durham, near the hospital, to relieve him of the need to make a three to four-hour round trip (on top of the treatment time) from Bob’s home in Fayetteville to Durham every day. While Duke has a hotel where patients can stay, at this time it is fully booked through mid-January.
