Support Bo, one of the Arabian BOGO Colts

Donation protected
Hello,

My name is CJ Jewart. I have been luck enough to be one of the trainers for the BOGO colts. I started them both under saddle, on trails and lots of fun venues, like mounted shooting! The owner needs you help now, to support Bo's on-going care.

The BOGO colts have a fascinating story of early survival, which I'd encourage you to read here - BOGO Colt info, they also have a facebook page, BOGO Colt Facebook

Bo was injured in October of 2021 with a rope burn. His tendon sheath became infected and he had to be treated at a Hospital. After returning from the hospital, Bo coliced (dangerous digestive disorder), and had to go to be hospitalized again. Fortunately, he didn't need any surgery, just lots of fluids to help manure pass. He was released from the hospital. But in that time, his tendon sheath became reinfected and it went into the tendon. His tendon was severely damaged and 85% compromised.

We thought the worst was over, and he was on the road to recovery. We were wrong, as a severe case of supporting leg laminitis took hold in the other hind leg. The "sinker" laminitis in one hind-leg, combined with a tendon not yet healed in the other hind leg, meant Bo may not be able to survive. At one point, an appointment to euthanize Bo was made.

When things looked dark for Bo, a specialized farrier took his case. We are not "out-of-the-woods", but Bo has been showing some improvement. There have been set-backs, as he has some hoof separation, but Bo has increased his food in-take and shows a lot of will to live.

Making every effort to save Bo's life has come at a tremendous cost to his owner. Bo can not be sent home at this point, because a trailer ride may do detrimental harm. As his trainer, I am doing a ton of daily care. Bo has been hospitalized three times, and visited frequently by a local veterinarian. Bo is getting daily pain medicines, ulcer medicine,  and several other supplements to help in his recovery. The funds will be used to pay outstanding medical bills and his continued care.

Your help means so much to his owner and I. They are very special horses, that need to be shared with the world.

His owner has shared, and continues to share their story with the world. I am asking you to support his owner, in anyway you can. Share their story, and if possible, give what you can.

We all need to rally behind Bo. His medical costs have taken a big toll on his owners finances. Those of us who are loyal followers of the boy's know just how many difficulties they have had and they have managed to triumph despite them. However, there is a limit to how much cost can be borne and I feel Jennifer is at that point. She could really use some help from us. Many of us have followed the boys since the very beginning and the pleasure we have gotten from them is priceless. It is my hope that ALL of us are willing to donate towards his medical costs. We are a large group of admirers (I think like over 12,000 on facebook) so if we each gave just a small amount we could go along way towards easing Jennifer's financial burden. As an example if we each gave only five dollars that would add up quickly. (5×12,000= $60,000.00) Of course any amount would help. Even if you could only send one dollar that would be great or if you're able to send more that would be better. Jennifer isn't comfortable asking but I personally think it's the right thing to do. It's a nice way to show our appreciation for everything we've enjoyed as a result of her efforts to share these beautiful horse's life journey with us. So come on let's help her!!!
