BO UPDATE

Well several reach out asking about Bo. Well we have found out his has ROS1 FUSION —a genetic mutation that occurs when the ROS1 gene breaks and attaches to another gene. This mutation is a driver of non-small cell lung cancer. He is stage 4A. From what we could tell from CT the cancer is still there. Hasn’t shrunk or grown. We believe a few lymph nodes are non cancerous and turn to scar tissue. Wednesday we will meet with his new oncologist to discuss the finally CT reading. Treatment he will have to do for the rest of his life is medicine called REPOLRECTINIB (Augturo) that’s for stage 4 ROS1 positive for non small cell lung cancer. He will

Live with this cancer for the rest of his life. This medicine is brand new and treats those with the ROS1. Only 1-2% of people in the world has this with non small cell lung cancer has this mutant cell. We will fight it with all treatments possible and prayers. Everyday they find new ways to fight cancer.

He started the new chemo pill and it has been very hard on him. He is wanting to try and push himself to go back to work but we do not know when or how he will be able to.

I just ask for continued prayers for Bo. He has been so good going through of of this. Yes life is changing for us. But we have each other and God with us

They are still needing assistance with medical bills and daily life. Jeanna has been looking for a second job to help cover expenses as he is still home dealing with the effects of the cancer as well as the medications.

My name is Jessie Burks. I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of Bo and Jeanna Vaden. (My mother and father in law). Recently Bo has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He has a long road ahead of him and it is already effecting day to day life. Bills don’t stop and he will be out of work for a while. This has left the weight of all expenses on Jeanna’s shoulders.
