We never thought we'd create one of these, but the universe had different plans. We're humbled and despondent. We thought we had a plan and savings in case of an emergency like this, but this has gone so far and above anything we can fathom.

Our sweet BMO got violently ill out of the blue the evening of 4/12/26, and had vomiting and diarrhea through the night. Gary took her to the nearby animal hospital where they gave her meds and sent her home. At first it seemed like she was getting better, then it got much worse; she became limp with labored breathing and whimpering. She started to have an awful seizure so we rushed her to Dove Lewis Animal Hospital late evening on 4/13/26. They told us BMO was in septic shock, and with her presentation and lab results, gave her a 3-5% chance of pulling through. As you know, BMO is our BABY. We told them to please help her and give her what she needs for her best chance at survival. Dove Lewis has amazing doctors, specialists, facilities, and resources, and we hoped beyond hope BMO would find a way to pull through. BMO has undergone a plethora of tests, procedures, medications, exams, labs, and care. We got the awesome news today that she's defying the odds and slowly improving bit by bit. She isn't out of the woods yet, but her prognosis is more positive and with the right care and treatment, she has a chance to recover and hopefully come home. She has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis with no known etiology, that came on suddenly and severely, resulting in septic shock and pneumonia. This is day 2 of the ICU at Dove Lewis, and they believe she will need at least a few more days there, along with extensive aftercare.

Here's the rub: Dove Lewis is wonderful and I can't say enough great things about them....but they are EXPENSIVE. Without knowing exactly how many more days she will be there and what all more treatment she needs, the cost is estimated to be upwards of $20,000.

BMO is a beloved member of our family and of course you can't put a price tag on that, but holy smokes we have no idea what we're going to do. This is why we're reaching out. If you are moved to contribute, we would be so incredibly grateful!! If you are moved to share this, that would be so awesome and appreciated. And if you are moved to pray or send well wishes to sweet BMO in her recovery, that would be absolutely treasured.

Thank you with all our hearts for taking the time to read this and for being in our lives. ❤️
