Support Blazh Family's Olympic Dream

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Leila Hooper and I am helping the Blazh family to raise funds for their son Eldar and daughter Nadya to compete in the 2024 National Jr. Olympics. This competition is scheduled for July in Oregon and these talented artistic swimmers are strong contenders. They have worked so hard to develop their craft and overcome many recent challenges related to leaving their home in Russia when the war began and relocating to the U.S.. Nadya and Eldar will each have several performances, including team performances, duets, trios and solos. They will travel with their older sister, Vasilisa, who has taken on a coaching position to guide them. The entire family is dedicated to supporting Eldar and Nadya as they pursue their dreams.

Nadya won silver medals at the championship of the Southern Federal District of Russia. She recently competed in Massachusetts and placed fifth in the individual competition. She is traveling to the Junior Olympic Games as part of a team of 8 girls, as well as a trio and a duet.

Eldar is a three-time champion of Russia among juniors in mixed duets synchronized swimming. Shortly before their departure, he received an invitation to the Russian Olympic team and was supposed to compete at the World Junior Championships in the summer of 2022. Unfortunately, Eldar was forced to pause training for a year and a half when they left Russia. Despite this, he managed to win gold at the US Championships in the technical solo category in March of this year. He is taking two duets to the Junior Olympics, technical and free with two female partners.

We are asking for you to consider donating any amount to send them both to this competition. The funds will be used to cover airline fares, registration fees, partial food allowance, partial car rental. They will stay in one room with their older sister. She secured housing coverage from the swim club so she can attend as their coach. We are only asking to cover actual costs for this trip. The entire family is working hard to establish their new life in the U.S. and it is difficult to also fund this high level pursuit. Our community can make a difference and allow these talented young swimmers to compete this summer. Thank you for your consideration!
