Hi everyone,
I’m Blayde’s sister, and I never imagined I’d be writing something like this.
Over the span of a few weeks, our lives were turned upside down. My little brother, Blayde, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It happened so fast. One moment he was just feeling a little off, and the next my parents were sitting in a hospital room, hearing words no family should ever have to hear.
He’s only 12, just a kid. He loves riding his dirt bike, playing outside, playing baseball, and making people laugh. Just the other day, something happened that felt like a miracle. Our grandparents showed up with a surprise: a brand new dirt bike for Blayde. Not just any bike… a bright green one. The next day we realized something… green is the ribbon color for lymphoma awareness. We didn’t plan it. They didn’t know. But it was like God knew. That green bike was a sign. A reminder that we’re not alone in this fight. That we’ve already seen proof of strength and hope. That this battle belongs to God, and He’s showing us that we got this.
That’s Blayde. He’s tough, brave, and still trying to live like a normal 12 year old. But behind that smile, we’re in a fight for his life.
This GoFundMe is for the everyday weight this diagnosis has put on our family and the things most people don’t see:
- The hours spent in the car, driving back and forth to the hospital.
- The missed work. My mom and stepdad haven’t been able to work regularly since this started. They’re with Blayde 24/7, doing everything they can.
- The cost of keeping our farm going. We still need to feed animals, pay bills, and somehow keep things running at home.
- Making sure Blayde is eating healthy during treatment. Cancer takes a toll on the body, and nutrition is a big part of helping him fight.
- Trying to create moments of joy in between the pain, because he still deserves to be a kid.
This fight is hard. But Blayde is tougher. He believes he's going to beat this so we believe with everything in us that he will beat this.
