Help Me Move Into Safety & Stability

Hi friends, community, and kind-hearted strangers!

My name is Blanca Del Loco (she/they). I’m 26 years old Black Trans Femme, a theatre/music professional, and a deeply community-oriented human living in New York City currently without stable housing.

I’ve been in NYC for three years, working hard, creating art, and showing up for my chosen family and community. Unfortunately, I have found myself in many unhealthy and unsustainable living situations, and this Feb i had to flee from my apartment due to my safety becoming in danger.

As a trans person, finding safe housing, affirming, and LGBTQIA+ friendly is not just a preference: it’s a necessity. While I’m doing everything I can on my own, the upfront costs of moving in NYC or anywhere (first month’s rent, security deposit, moving expenses, application fees) are overwhelming and are currently the biggest barrier to getting out of this situation quickly. I currently have no where to go for the month of April and I have no savings in order to pay rent or buy a plane ticket if I must flee home with everything happening with ICE. I am currently working 3 jobs on top of performing, auditioning, and trying to mentally stay afloat.
