Support Blanca's Fight Against Brain Cancer

Hi, my name is Nayeli Velazquez, reaching out on behalf of my aunt, Blanca Rojas, who is battling Leptomeningeal Disease, a form of brain cancer. My aunt Blanca is 36 years old, a wife, and a mother of three.

My aunt Blanca was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 31, months after her last child. In 2020, she went through a life-changing surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments alone because of all the Covid restrictions at the time.

Unexpectedly, in March 2024, they found a brain tumor requiring immediate surgery. Everything seemed like a good recovery until August 2024, when we received devastating news: Blanca's aggressive cancer had returned and spread to her outer brain and spine. She is currently hospitalized at Emory in Atlanta, GA, enduring unimaginable physical pain, while we all cope with the fear of losing her.

Doctors have recommended Proton Radiation Therapy, which is very expensive at well over $100,000 for this treatment. My aunt is determined to keep fighting for her children, who are the ones that give her the strength to endure any pain.

It’s the least to say my aunt is a strong woman facing overwhelming challenges one after another. Despite numerous fundraising efforts, only a fraction of the expenses has been covered.

A mi tía Blanca le diagnosticaron cáncer de mama a los 31 años, meses después de su último hija. En 2020, pasó por una cirugía, quimioterapia y tratamientos de radiación que le cambiaron la vida solo debido a todas las restricciones de Covid en ese momento.

Inesperadamente, en marzo de 2024 encontraron un tumor cerebral que requería cirugía inmediata. Todo parecía una buena recuperación hasta agosto de 2024, cuando recibimos una noticia devastadora: el agresivo cáncer de Blanca había regresado y se había extendido a la parte externa del cerebro y la columna.
