Blake is my little brother that just turned 18 in June, and has his whole life ahead of him. Just this summer, he spent three months in Alaska working on charter boat fishing tours and was about to start a new job doing the same work at Fort Myers Beach.

Last Friday, Blake was in a serious motorcycle accident that left him with a brain injury. He’s currently facing a long road to recovery and will need to spend time in a rehabilitation center to regain his strength and independence. The costs of medical care and rehab are overwhelming, and our family is doing everything we can to support him.

Blake doesn’t have a mom or a dad. Our grandmother, Mema, has been his main caregiver amongst other people in his circle, so he has faced more than his share of challenges. Now, more than ever, Blake needs the support of his community to help him focus on healing instead of carrying the financial burden on this journey ahead.
