On January 18, 2026, the day of the fire at Cook Brothers Funeral Directors and Cremations, Pastor Cook’s cousin, Blake, courageously helped him rescue the loved ones of grieving families who were inside the funeral home. In the midst of unimaginable chaos, Blake put his own life on the line to help save others.

As a result of his bravery, Blake was rushed to Grady Hospital and is currently still there receiving treatment for smoke inhalation, eye irritation, and a swollen throat. His injuries are a reminder of the real sacrifice made that day, not only to protect property, but to honor and preserve the dignity of families during one of the most difficult moments of their lives.

We are creating this GoFundMe to support Blake during this time, as he navigates medical expenses, recovery, and the long road ahead to healing.
