11/3: our boy is on the mend!

10/27 Update. Blackie went back into the hospital this morning bc his wound was infected. He is having surgery at Hickory which the family was told will be between $1000-$1500. We updated the donor amount to cover what the first visit cost ($928) plus this.

10/21/25, Blackie and his best friend David were heading out for a walk. Neighborhood cameras caught their exit and a vicious attack from another dog that went on for 10 minutes. Neighbors could not get the other dog off of Blackie. In the end, one neighbor maced the other dog, who left with his owner to attack a person down the street. (Police are still looking for the other dog.)

Blackie was severely injured. He was taken to Hickory Hospital and treated for a laceration to the face and two puncture wounds on the neck. David's daughter paid the vet bill and we would like to raise money to pay her back. This is a good family with a good dog. David and Blackie were traumatized that day.
