SUPPORT A MUSLIM MOM 2GIRLS UNDER 3 YEARS OLD IN NEED
This crowdfund is for a mental health clinician and new mom through her recovery. She is a passionate leader who provides vital services to our community, she had studied Islam with traditional scholars while abroad, earned her graduate degree to help address important and unmet needs in the community, and has led groups to support convert women. She's has worked with marginalized populations and important community institutions. And now, she is in a vulnerable state as she tries to balance taking care of a newborn and a toddler. She received a scholarship to attend a doctorate program, but everything is on hold. She's currently on maternity as she heals from a cesarean section.

Divorce is hard. And even harder when you don't have family support and are a public person. Facing traumatic upheaval and spiritual betrayal, this newly single mom of two girls under three needs our support to get back on her feet. She's doing this as we are facing another COVID surge. The pandemic makes it extremely difficult for her to go out and seek support or even for us to visit as we could be putting her and her babies' health in danger. It is so important that we rally together to help provide some tangible relief as she works to improve her situation. And none of us can do this alone. Her crisis was made even worse by someone taking advantage of her emotional vulnerability and not returning borrowed funds.
- $1400 to replace funds that an associate took from her
- $2500 helps pay for rent as she recuperates
- $7000 can help with her relocation costs to a more affordable living situation in the coming months.
She has mounting financial needs, from legal bills around the divorce, childcare, student loans, exorbitant rent, a car note, insurance, and other bills. Where we live, it costs a single-parent household $4,732 per month to make ends. We can do something to keep her from drowning and assist her in making a transition while she and her girls heal. Please donate what you can. No amount is too small. Together we can give back to someone who has sacrificed so much for our community.
About the Organizer
I have done a lot of work raising funds for racial justice causes and emerging who need financial support in our community. This sister has trusted me to help her get support. She is well known in the community and I have known her personally for a number of years. She was a neighbor and her spouse was a scholar. This sister stood by me in 2018 and helped me during the most difficult transitions. During my roughest times, she frequently checked up on me, offering guidance in seeking professional mental health while addressing the gaslighting and spiritual bypassing I faced. Importantly, she gave me spiritual counsel that kept me strong.
Email me, the organizer, you prefer to send funds to the sister through my zelle and I will make sure she gets your help. Due to the delicate nature of the situation and work, I am not providing personal details on social media. I am happy to vouch for this sister and share relevant details (that she has agreed that I can share) with trusted members of the community.
