Support Black Cat Bar

Donation protected
After working at Turf Club for over a decade, Matt Parker bought Nancy’s Pub in City Heights in 2011 and transformed it into The Black Cat Bar. Over the last nine years, he has worked diligently to provide a safe drinking environment for City Heights as well as bring in people from all over San Diego to enjoy local music.

The pandemic that closed local bars in March 16, 2020 has affected everyone in the world. Small businesses and sole proprietor’s like Matt Parker are going to have a hard time keeping their business afloat without going into debt.

Black Cat Bar remained closed weeks after the order for bars was lifted to make sure that it would be safe for customers and the staff. The bar reopened on June 26, 2020, only to find out today that it will be closed indefinitely again on July 1, 2020 due to the Coronavirus.

Since the Black Cat Bar is such a well beloved venue the staff has come together to create this Gofundme to help Matt with rent and for the repairs he has, and may need to make, in the future.

All funds 100% will be given directly to Matt Parker.  He is also unaware at the posting of this that we have started this Gofundme for the bar.

We thank you in advance,

Tara, Dennis, Christina, Laura, Lynn, Nate, Sarah and Lucy
