BISCUIT UPDATE 7/17: She's at the vet right now, she has a draining abscess on her anus and they did notice she has a small bladder, so she most likely has peed somewhere without me noticing. I did find a urine smell in her dog bed area, so it is likely she peed there while licking at her butt. She also finally pooped yesterday and ate a bowl of food! I've opted for some cleaning and tests with the vet plus medication to clear her abscess.
Hi, my name is Chelsea and these are my dogs in the cover photo, Biscuit (left) and Whiskey (right). They have been very bonded since the day they met. Whiskey passed away at the emergency vet on 7/13/25 after escaping the house and being hit by a car (he passed away surrounded by lots of love, and Biscuit got to see him as well), and Biscuit has been depressed since then. I haven't seen her poop or pee since before that day, and she's barely eating. Her butt looks swollen/like there's something wrong (i have uploaded a picture of it). Biscuit is only 3 years old and Whiskey was only 4.
I am asking for $4,000 because Whiskey's emergency bill was $2,800, a big chunk of money my family is unable to afford, and I am worried Biscuit also has complications she needs to see a vet ASAP for. I don't know yet how much it would cost for her, but I am worried she could develop an obstruction/blockage if not seen soon. I can't afford another vet bill, especially if it is an emergency visit again. I can't lose another dog, not when she still has so much life ahead of her. The funds would first be spent on getting Biscuit medical care, then paying for Whiskey's bill and the memorial items we opted for (his ashes and paw print), and then finally anything remaining would go to Biscuit's care and any aftercare she needs from the vet visit (this includes medication and food going forward as well as any needed follow-up appointments)
I understand I am asking for a lot. At the very least, I would like enough to cover vet bills for Biscuit, however much it may be. She is my #1 priority right now, making sure she still gets a chance to live her life fully after losing her brother, her best friend.
Please help me save my baby. I couldn't save one, and I can't bear to lose another.
