I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my best friend and soul sister, Bindu. Recently, her world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In an instant, her life — and the lives of her two young children — changed forever.

Bindu is a devoted mother, raising her kids as a single parent. She works tirelessly to provide for them, but her current job does not offer health benefits. Despite being diagnosed with cancer, she was denied Medicaid, leaving her with devastating medical costs and no safety net to lean on. She has reapplied, but while she waits, the bills keep piling up, and the uncertainty grows heavier each day.

On August 28th, Bindu will undergo a double mastectomy, a major and life-altering surgery. Afterward, she will face more tests to determine whether she will need chemotherapy, radiation, or other treatments. This means weeks of being unable to work, while still being the sole provider for her children. The mounting financial strain, combined with the physical and emotional toll of fighting cancer, is simply overwhelming.

As a single mom with two children depending on her, Bindu carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. She is trying to stay strong for them, but the truth is, she cannot do this alone. The reality of unpaid bills, rent, groceries, and now massive medical expenses is heartbreaking.
