Support Billy's Recovery from Knee Surgery

The organizers of this fundraiser Kayla and Grace are good friends of the beneficiary, Billy Lee Myers Jr. We are reaching out with an urgent request to support our dear friend, after an unexpected accident.

Billy, a spiritual psychologist in Austin, TX, has been practicing therapy for over 20 years. He works selflessly and wholeheartedly, treating everyone with openness, respect, and kindness. Whether you're his friend, client, or even his local grocer, Billy greets you with a warm smile and joyful conversation, much like Mr. Rogers. His presence makes the world brighter and more connected. We invite Billy’s community, friends, and anyone touched by his story to offer financial support to help him continue spreading his light. Now is the time where Billy needs the support he has so generously given to others.

Billy has been battling post-COVID syndrome, or Long-COVID, for over two years. He was prescribed medication for his breathing, which led to side effects that contributed to his current injury. In October, Billy fell on stairs at home, avulsing the quadricep tendons in both legs, resulting in a painful injury that required weeks of hospitalization. After successful surgery, Billy is now in a skilled nursing facility but has paused his practice to focus on healing. The surgeon estimates a six-month recovery period.

Billy will soon leave the skilled nursing facility, and we are searching for a short-term living situation for 1-2 months since his current home is unsafe due to stairs. During the next two months we are researching long-term housing options. Long-term, we aim to find him an ADA-compliant, stair-free residence to ensure his safety. While Billy hopes to resume client sessions in a month, it will be at a slower pace. These funds will support him over the next six months.

Out of Pocket Medical Expenses/Hospital/SNF/Medical Equipment: TBD~ $10,000

Cost of Living Expenses (Rent): $6,000

Moving Fees: $2,000
