Many of you know my brother Billy has spent the last two years working hard to rebuild his life. Last night, on his way home from the gym, he was hit from behind while riding his scooter.

He was thrown over the handlebars, landed on his head, and injured his right arm. Thankfully, nothing is broken—but he’s been referred to an orthopedic surgeon to evaluate possible soft tissue damage. We don’t know yet if surgery will be needed.

His scooter was totaled. He’ll miss work for appointments, and medical bills are adding up.

Billy and his wife Ashlee have been working toward moving into a duplex or single-family home this summer, and this setback comes at a tough time.
