The total cost for the simple cremation with Horn's Mortuary in Longview, Texas is $2914. The most helpful thing everyone can do is make a small donation to Billy's Cremation & Memorial Fund. In May of this year, Billy suffered a spinal injury when he was thrown from a ladder while working. He lost his company health and life insurance benefits when he went on worker's comp. Billy could not get private life insurance due to his pre-existing medical conditions. We greatly appreciate all the donations that have been made.

Billy's memorial has been planned for January 10th from 11am - 1pm at First Church of the Nazarene in Nacogdoches, Texas. I am getting as much donated as I can. The memorial venue has been provided free of charge. Floral arrangements for artificial keepsake displays have been made. Food arrangements have been made. A formal announcement, memorial program, and slide show will be designed over the next 2 weeks. Please share pictures, stories, and songs in the Facebook group chat.

There are so many sad hearts missing Billy right now, but we know Billy is sitting with God at peace and pain free. Billy had a degenerative heart condition that runs in his family on his father's side. He was always very specific about what he did and did not want his life to be like. His advanced medical directives were very specific. Billy never wanted to leave his family so soon. He always hoped for a full life but he also prayed that he did not end up existing as an invalid / bed ridden just waiting for death. When there are so many people praying for different outcomes the question is, whose prayer does God answer.

I believe in this story God answered Billy's prayer. While anger and sorrow are the easiest to find, embracing peace in the face of not getting the answers we want are one of God's greatest challenges. We must do our very best to meet that challenge with grace and faith. ❤️
