Help Clean Up & Rehab Billy’s Home

Our dad, Billy Smith, was diagnosed with terminal metastatic cancer on October 8th. It has shaken our family deeply. Our dad, pawpaw, husband, uncle, and father-in-law has spent the past several decades helping raise kids, nieces, grandkids, and sons-in-law. We’ve leaned on him for childcare and pet sitting (Pawpaw Daycare) for the past 13 years. He’s never batted an eye at taking in the boys’ in his girls’ lives. He’s never said no when we needed kid help. He’s done doctor’s appointments, ball games, award ceremonies, and never missed a grandkids’ birthday party (when we have one ). We sure love him.

Dad is living on a fixed income from SS, as is Mom, and their healthcare though covered by Medicare is not covered 100%. They live simply but things are expensive and the SS income doesn’t keep up. His portion of the medical bills are already rolling in and it’s only been a couple of weeks. He’s undergone a stent placement, a liver biopsy, some CT scans, and numerous blood tests. My sisters and I are covering what we can but we’re also dealing with our own household’s healthcare bills and complex needs.

Amy also provides caregiving to our Mom who has limited walking mobility.
