I’m raising this fundraiser for Bill, a man whose strength, love, and work ethic have always been the backbone of his family. He’s the 75 year old father of one of my closest friends, Jessica, and someone I’ve come to admire deeply. Just days ago, while hanging Halloween decorations for his granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Bill fell off a ladder in a devastating accident that changed everything.

He struck his head with such force that he fractured his spine and suffered two brain bleeds, one causing a 4mm midline shift. He was rushed to the ICU, underwent five CT scans, and is now home, but the road ahead is long and painful. He’s still battling severe pain and sleepless nights.  Fluid remains on the brain and another scan is scheduled this week to monitor his condition.

Bill lives on social security and supplements his income by driving for Uber Eats. But now, he can’t drive. He can’t work. And with a recovery window of 3 to 6 months, his family is facing an overwhelming financial strain. The stress is mounting for a man who’s already endured so much.

This fundraiser is about more than money. It’s about giving a hardworking grandfather the chance to heal without fear. It’s about showing Jessica and her family that they’re not alone.
