Help Billie Rumsey Navigate Life Without Scott

Some people touch our lives and leave us forever transformed. Scott Rumsey was that person. You couldn’t be in his presence without feeling the warmth of his bright smile, seeing the twinkle in his eye or feeling the genuine nature that he exuded as a person.

Scott was a gifted educator who worked for 31 years with his wife Billie at Bright Beginnings School. Together, they created a truly magical early elementary program known for building character and inspiring learning through curiosity, creativity and playfulness.

On June 2, 2025, the world suddenly and unexpectedly lost our cherished Scottie Skittles. We lost a dear friend, husband, father, grandfather, mentor and pillar of the community.

Our community is banding together to support Billie and her family during this unthinkable time. This fund is being set up to give her relief from financial burden as she navigates a new normal for herself, her family and the future of the school.
