Hello Everyone.

Bill Steves has had a below the knee amputation of the right foot and lower leg due to osteomyelitis. He really needs your help to cover the costs of recovery and prosthetic appliance.

If you've ever met Bill, you know he's quick with a joke or anecdote to make you smile. He's a family man, a devoted husband of 28 years, a loving father, and Navy veteran.

But Bill is also that friend that is always willing to help others, or to teach someone some aspect of electrical systems. Bill is a hard worker, and someone you can depend on, but right now he needs to depend on others.

Bill has undergone two previous partial amputations of his right foot as the result of a wound that refused to heal. He's endured sepsis which required a picc line and wearing an antibiotic pump around the clock for 6 weeks. He's had to learn to walk and navigate life and a full time job, with only two toes and less than half of the right foot.

The road to recovery was tough but Bill endured.

For the last year, Bill has battled pain and infection and a gradual weakening of the ligaments surrounding the ankle. The weakness caused excessive supination, which forced Bill to walk on the side of his foot, and as a result created additional wounds from friction.

Recently it was discovered that the infection in these wounds made it to the bone and therefore required a total amputation below the knee. This bka surgery will warrant a more extensive recovery and more intensive rehabilitation.

It will also require a prosthesis so that Bill can return to his normal routine.

In the meantime, while unable to work, Bill will need help with medical costs and living expenses. It is our hope that some of you may help ease the stress and financial burden of Bill's recovery.
