UPDATE 6-30-25
Bill is still at St. Joseph’s in ICU. Many tests have revealed that he is not a candidate for open heart surgery at this time. He had a MitraClip surgical procedure last week to repair his mitral valve and it appears to be successful. The right size of his heart is weak but appears to be responding to medication. Please keep him in your prayers.
As a friend of Bill Ryan’s family, I would like to make you aware of Bill’s medical situation.
On Friday, June 6th, he was taken to the VA hospital due to severe swelling in his legs and feet. He was immediately admitted as a cardiac patient, treatment began to remove the fluid causing the swelling, and testing began to determine the cause. He is currently in the ICU for very close monitoring. He has undergone lots of sonograms and ultrasounds on his heart. He has a serious Mitral Valve prolapse that needs to be repaired.
He will undergo open heart surgery in the next day or two.
Bill will be out of work for a long time and will have no income. He will be in the hospital or rehab at least 6 weeks, as well as recovery time once he is home. If there is any amount that you can give, it would be greatly appreciated.
He has a long road ahead of him for full recovery.
Let's help him get back on his feet.
Thank you from his friends and family.
