My Name is Danny Peterson, and I have had the pleasure of knowing, working and befriending Bill McShane for nearly a decade now.

Bill Mcshane is a friend to all, a hard-working co-worker to some, and one of the best, well-loved Independent Reps I’ve had the pleasure of working with in my industry. He loved playing Hockey growing up, loves guitar, and was an exceptional cyclist for some time. He generally loves the outdoors, and loves "hanging out" and chatting with people who share like passions. He has now decided to retire from the workforce and deservedly focus on his health and quality of life.

Bill has long been in roles of leadership. He loved working with people at Fuji, Dormio, and Classic Brands. His love to visit and help others motivated him to make his travels to help customers in the bedding and furniture industry, in roles with Corsicana, BedTech, Malouf, MLILY, and others. He consistently made the road his home, attending markets to greet and assist his customers and friends, driving long trips across the Midwest to be in stores and assist in trainings, and even attended seasonal gatherings and fundraisers to show his utmost support to those that have supported him over the years.

Now Bill Needs our help. In late 2020, at what may have been the peak of his career, Bill was given the devastating news that he was experiencing symptoms of early-onset Parkinson's Disease. Parkinson's can affect every aspect of one’s life, from affecting mental acuity, to one’s dexterity and balance, Tremors and involuntary movement, affecting their ability to sleep, and their immune system, just to name a few. Bill has sought the best medical help throughout the last 5 years to combat and slow the effects of this degenerative disease. Throughout this time, he has been able to continue to not only be a help and asset to his customers in his capacity as a Rep, but also has become an inspiration and ally for those familiar with and fighting the disease.

Since his diagnosis in 2020, Bill has been striving to seek the latest medical treatment and better his health and long-term prognosis. This Go-Fund Me campaign seeks to get Bill on the path towards stability, peace, and hopeful recovery & progress in three ways:

1st - STABLITY: Bill needs to be able to survive financially the coming months until his social security and disability benefits officially can “kick in”. This process can take months. Being on his retirement and disability payments will give him stability and peace of mind going into this next stage of life, but until they start becoming available to him, the costs of living alone are challenging to his in his condition. The government issues of the past year have made this process difficult and lengthier than expected for him. He is in immediate need of our assistance.

2nd – BETTERMENT: Bill is seeking to move closer to family that cares for him and friends that will support him, and a warmer climate (which Doctors and studies have shown can help his condition) eases his symptoms. That is going to be a costly move for him, one that he will rely solely on movers to assist him with.

3rd – HOPE: Bill is a fighter that will continue to seek out innovative ways to push back against Parkinson's. One of the ways he seeks to do that is through innovative and growingly popular procedures, such as using stem cell therapy to repair the deteriorated brain cells and vessels. This is currently in clinical trials, but procedures and opportunities are available for those who wish to participate early in this treatment. Bill has seen the success stories, and doesn't want to waste any time. He wishes to attempt these procedures that hold the potential promise of symptom reversal, but the costs are still staggering.
