Support Bill King's Recovery Journey

As most of you all know, my dad, Bill King, had melanoma under his arm. He had surgery to remove it all, and it was a success. He went to a cancer doctor after the surgery, and he wanted him to do an immunotherapy treatment called Keytruda. He agreed, and they did labs beforehand, and my dad's labs were perfect, so they gave him one treatment. In the next three weeks, he was feeling tired and weak, and he was hurting all over, but he just thought this was all normal. He went back for a second treatment 3 weeks later, and they drew his blood and ran the basic tests like a CMP and CBC. His liver enzymes were in the 500s, and they are supposed to be between 35 and 40. His stomach was swollen, so they didn't do the second dose of Keytruda, and the cancer center sent him home with 20 mg steroids. He was supposed to take 4 a day, which is a total of 80 mg. Dad did that for 3 days, and he said, 'I can't take that much.' He was sweating profusely. He was weak, short of breath, nauseous, and had chest pain. Mom took him out to the ER. They said he had a silent heart attack. His oxygen and blood pressure were low. His white blood cell count was really high, which means he had an infection somewhere, so they can't put in a permanent pacemaker until the infection is gone. They went ahead and put in a temporary pacemaker, and we almost lost him a few times. They were able, over several days, to get his white count down so they can put in a permanent pacemaker. He ended up getting a blood clot in his lungs, and a partial lung collapsed. His CO2 is really high, so he has to wear a BiPAP. He is still in the hospital, going on 4 weeks. He will be in there until he is able to sit up and walk again. My mom hasn't left his side. She had to take off indefinitely from her job because she is afraid to leave him in case something happens. None of the bills are getting paid. She can't pay her mortgage or electric bills or anything. I don't want them to lose the house.

We were not going to do this because we were embarrassed asking for a handout, but we don't know what else to do. My mom would give the shirt off her back to a stranger if they needed it. She is the most caring and selfless woman I know. If you can find it in your heart to give to my parents in this time of need so they don't lose their house, we would forever be grateful. Thank you for reading this, and God bless.
