My name is Kayla Kelly, The niece of William P Kelly who went by Billy. My uncle Billy. My Uncle Billy was murdered by his wife after years of physical and verbal abuse that he endured. My uncle only wanted to be a phenomenal father to his son and in his final moments he protected his son one last time by making sure he sent his son upstairs and put on headphones so he wouldn’t hear or see any of the violence his wife would bestow upon him. On December 30th at around 8 o’clock at night during a verbal dispute my uncle’s wife decided that she was going to take his life. She not only took his life, but she took away my baby cousins best friend and father. She took away my grandparents only son and I watched them crumble and fall apart every day since the news because they have to outlive their own son, something that no parents should ever have to do. My uncle was the greatest friend to anyone, the best family member, and in my case the best Uncle any little girl could ever ask for. I’m still trying to wake up from this nightmare. All I wanna do is call him because he was always the person to go to whenever I felt weak and needed a strong funny comedy relief.. he was the toughest guy I knew mentally and physically. I’m just trying to make him proud down here while I try to make sure his parents are okay. In the funeral home me and his father are organizing the services and I watched my grandfather hysterically cry for his son and his grandson, knowing the pain that this caused is breaking me. I keep on telling myself “What would my uncle do or say to me if I were to ask him for advice? What would make him proud?” I’m just trying to channel him through this time to help everyone get through it. I would do anything to just hear his voice. But right now I’m just trying to make sure his parents get to see their son go off in the best way that he deserves for being such a phenomenal person he was. It doesn’t matter bigger or small whatever it can help go to his funeral expenses to make sure his kids get parts of him and his parents can send off their baby boy in the most honorable way possible. For his family for his children and for their friends that loved him dearly. Sending all of our love and our gratitude.
