Dear Family, Friends, and Colleagues,
Thank you for visiting this page. With heavy hearts, the Ontario Special Constable Association, in partnership with the OC Transpo Special Constable Unit, share the news about our dear friend and colleague, Bill Frazer, who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer which has spread to both lungs. Bill, a dedicated first responder and family-man, now faces a formidable opponent. As he prepares for this fight, we are rallying together to support Bill and his family during these challenging times.
My name is Sarah Kennedy, President of the Ontario Special Constable Association, and I, along with SCU Chief Special Constable Tracey McRae, are honored to spearhead this fundraising campaign for our beloved member and colleague, Bill Frazer.
Bill's dedication to his community spans over 18 years, and he has been a shining example of service and commitment. He served 14 years with the Ontario Provincial Police Offender Transport Unit as a Special Constable in the Ottawa area (2005 – 2019), and then with the OC Transpo Special Constable Unit, recently earning a well-deserved promotion to Superintendent. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill has been an integral part of the Ottawa-South community of Manotick, contributing as a volunteer firefighter.
Bill is not just a Peace Officer; he is the epitome of a family-man. His love and dedication for his wife, April, and their four children—three sons aged 11, 9, and 7, and a 4-year-old daughter—is evident in every aspect of his life. Despite the busy life of a first responder, Bill prioritizes time for those he loves, and his boundless energy is contagious to everyone around him. He is an adventurer at heart, embodying a spirit that loves the great outdoors and a healthy, active lifestyle. His love for his family and life extends to the trails, where he trains for marathons, conquers mountain biking challenges, and shares the joys of biking and skiing with April and their children.
In the summer, you will find Bill sharing his passion for mountain biking with his kids, creating lasting memories filled with fun and joy. When winter arrives, he embraces the thrill of skiing, turning family outings into adventures that are as much about the journey as they are about the destination. Getting four young children ready for skiing may be an adventure in itself, but Bill's eyes beam with love and pride as he recounts these family escapades.
At work, Bill is not just a colleague; he is a role model and friend, bringing positivity and fun to every shift. Despite the physical demands of the job, Bill maintains a level of fitness that is a testament to his dedication to a healthy lifestyle. His colleagues describe him as a giant of a man with a gentle spirit, serving his community with unmatched professionalism and pride.
Bill's positivity and resilience to overcoming this diagnosis are truly inspiring. He faces a daunting prognosis of 12-36 months, but his strength and determination to beat the odds shine through. Bill's selflessness is evident as he insisted on making this fundraising campaign about securing the future of his wife and children.
As Bill embarks on a rigorous treatment plan involving radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery in the coming weeks, we aim to alleviate the financial burden on his family. Together, we can make a lasting difference. Your generous contributions will help cover medical expenses, support the family during Bill's treatment, and ensure a stable future for his children.
Bill`s fight is our fight. Let us come together as a community, just as Bill has always done for us, to offer comfort to Bill, April, their children, along with Bill`s parents, sisters, brother, and their families. Your support, whether big or small, will make a significant impact on the Frazer family's journey. Please share this campaign widely and consider donating to help us reach our goal.
Thank you for standing with us in this critical time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sarah Kennedy
