On June 18th, 2024, Bev made a call to her granddaughter letting her she wasn’t feeling well and needed to go the hospital due to a hernia she previously had. A condition that she has had many times and many surgeries to correct. When she arrived at the hospital she was still full of life and even walking on her own. After some tests, the doctors decided to admit her for further observations. After a couple of days in the hospital, one day before she was supposed to be getting discharged, she unexpectedly went into AFIB and had to be rushed into emergency surgery. After a 4 hour surgery, she was placed in the icu on a ventilator on May 22nd. Sadly after this things began to get worse, she went into septic shock, developed various infections, and became sick with an upper respiratory infection/pneumonia. Despite all of this Bev continued to fight, smiling and dancing with family that came to visit to her, still showing her true spirit but we could tell she was getting tired. As a family we came together and decided that being on the ventilator was something that she never wanted and decided to remove her from it. Tuesday, June 18th, she was moved to the hospice floor to ensure she was comfortable , still surrounded by family each day. On June 22nd, 2024, Bev made her peaceful transition to be with the the Lord. If you knew my mom you knew a sweet, loving, caring lady who was willing to do anything for anyone she can. One of the sweetest souls ever. Any money donated will be going towards helping with funeral expenses, burial expenses, and possibly obtaining an attorney to ensure that this was not neglect on the hospital’s behalf.
