Support Bevin Szakacs' battle against cancer

Hi, my name is Eric Daku, Bevin's first cousin. Bevin and I grew up together and have remained close friends all of our lives. You are receiving this request of support because of your valued relationship with him as well.

Bevin has been fighting a rare form of stomach cancer called dedifferentiated abdominal lypo-sarcoma. He has been in treatment for several months using an experimental drug because traditional chemotherapy and radiation do not work well to treat this type of cancer.

Recently, we found out that the experimental drugs have not stopped the growth of the tumour as hoped. Doctors at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary are making Bevin comfortable, and assessing what other limited options are available to him.

Many of his drugs have not been covered under the Alberta medical plan, depleting Bevin's financial resources, adding significant stress to him and his family. Bevin is an entrepreneur, thus does not have the same level of medical plan coverage that many of us have as employees.

On behalf of Bevin's son's Spenser and Jayden, his partner Nicky, Carol and many other family and friends, we ask you to consider supporting Bevin with any donation that you can afford. The funds will be administered by Spenser to support his current outstanding expenses, and future expenses related to his care.
