Help Me Bring My Sister’s Kids to Safety from Abilene, Texas

Hi, my name is Beverly Ross and I’m urgently trying to bring my five nieces and nephews back home to Chicago, where they can be safe, loved, and protected.

Right now, they’re living in Abilene, Texas, with a man who is not their father — and who has been abusing them. We have video evidence of the abuse. He has taken away their communication devices and is trying to isolate them from me and anyone who cares. My sister is in a vulnerable position and unable to protect them right now.

The police now have the mother and the stepfather in custody, and it’s now my duty to get to them to bring them back to Chicago.

I refuse to sit by while this continues.

Why I’m Asking for Help:

I am raising funds to:

• Bring my sister’s children back to Chicago — with safe, urgent flights.

• Begin custody proceedings so I can legally protect them.

• Secure stable housing — with a down payment for a larger home or apartment to rehome them with myself or other safe family members.

This Is Personal.

I was in the DCFS system as a child.

I know what it’s like to feel abandoned, to be passed around, to live in survival mode.

I don’t want this for them. I won’t let this cycle repeat.

These kids deserve more than trauma. They deserve safety, joy, healing, and stability.
