My name is Beverly, and I’m currently facing a challenging journey with breast cancer. I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy, and soon I’ll be having a double mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, and an oophorectomy. The treatments and frequent medical appointments have made it difficult to keep up with work, and I’ve already used all of my sick and vacation time for the year. With several weeks of unpaid leave ahead for surgery and recovery, the financial strain is growing, especially with medical bills already piling up.

My workplace has been supportive, but the reality is that my family and I are struggling to keep up with the costs.
