A Lifetime of Service
If you’ve lived in our community for long, you likely know Betty. She is a woman who has spent her entire life in the service of others. From her years welcoming guests as a food and beverage manager at several well known restaurants and hotels, to her tireless devotion to rescuing and caring for horses throughout Ohio and Kentucky, Betty has always been the first to offer a helping hand.

Now, Betty needs us to be there for her.

The Hardship
The past year has been a series of unimaginable hurdles. After a devastating workplace injury last year left her with a shattered shoulder, Betty fought hard to recover and return to the job she loves. Tragically, shortly after returning this past January, a slip accident resulted in a serious back injury, leaving her unable to work once again and the last day she was able to work was February 21st.

Compounded by the lingering financial strain from Hurricane Ian, Betty has completely depleted her savings. As a senior citizen, she finds herself in a difficult gap in our social system—ineligible for certain disability services due to her age, while local assistance programs are currently stretched to their limits.

Our Goal: A 6-Month Bridge ($15,000)
We are raising $15,000 to provide Betty with a six-month "safety net." This amount is calculated to cover her essential living expenses for the next half-year, allowing her the time and space to heal without the constant, crushing fear of losing her home or being unable to afford basic necessities.

What your donation covers:
Your generosity will go directly toward Betty's monthly essentials over the next 6 months, including:

Housing & Utilities: Rent, water, and electricity.

Transportation: Car payment and insurance (essential for medical appointments).

Basic Needs: Groceries, gas, and household supplies.

Connectivity: Phone and internet (to manage her care and stay in touch with the community).

How You Can Help
Betty is a proud, hardworking woman who never expected to be in this position. By helping us reach this goal, you aren't just paying bills—you are giving a community pillar the dignity of a safe recovery.

Donate: Any amount, no matter how small, makes a direct impact.

Share: Please post this link on Facebook, Nextdoor, or via text. Spreading the word is just as valuable as a donation.

Workman's Comp Advice: Betty is also looking for someone to process.

Let’s show Betty the same love and dedication she has shown to our community and the animals she spent her life protecting.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
