Support Betty's Healing Journey

Hello All, This fundraiser is for Betty Nelson. Betty is an absolutely wonderful, compassionate and selfless woman who has been actively engaged in our Tucson community for many years.

Betty has shown her love for people in so many ways including being an empathetic volunteer for Poverello House for over 6 years. Betty has made countless meals for the unhoused population and spent 3 years making backpacks for foster children through Christ Child society of Tucson. Betty has held numerous positions through the church.

Betty is supported by her loving husband John Nelson – who has been a Poverello Volunteer for over 15 years and a Casa Maria volunteer for over 5 years. John and Betty are a pillar in this community and we are so grateful for their compassion and love.

In 2023, Betty suffered a severe arm injury that required three major surgeries. What began as a painful accident quickly became a long and difficult medical journey filled with physical, emotional, and financial challenges. Unfortunately, due to infection and incomplete bone growth - The surgery has not been successful. Betty’s provider has strongly suggested her undergoing multiple additional surgeries in the near future. With the impending financial burden and recovery time, Betty has and will be experiencing a lot of stress in these next few months.

Despite it all, Betty has shown incredible resilience and strength through months of intense recovery and rehabilitation. She always has a smile on her face!

Now, she needs our help.

The costs of medical treatments, ongoing exams and missing important life events have placed a heavy burden on Betty. Your donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward covering her medical expenses and supporting her full recovery.
