Support Betsy's second battle with cancer
Donation protected
If you have ever met Betsy, you know she is a force of nature. She is fierce and funny, brave and outgoing and the absolute life of every party. She’s a big movie buff. Once when Betsy was a little girl, she swung out of our 2nd floor living room window while hanging on to the curtains after seeing the movie Tarzan. We realized what was happening when we heard the Tarzan yell. Betsy tapped into this fearlessness when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016. She faced that diagnoses head on and came out on the other side.
Unfortunately, in July of last year, Betsy developed a pain in her rib and was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic breast cancer. It was devastating news, but Betsy pushed ahead and has not stopped fighting. Working through chemotherapy and managing complex medical treatments, Betsy continues to show extraordinary courage. However, the physical and financial demands of her healing journey — especially the fatigue — have depleted her savings and are challenging her ability to work consistently.
Betsy has admitted that she spends nights worrying more about paying for her basic living expenses of food, rent, and other needs than about the results of her latest scans. Now her character-defining independence has begun to feel like a burden, and it makes asking for help incredibly difficult. It is not in her DNA. Betsy is an empathetic, compassionate soul who has spent a lifetime lifting others up. She is the first to send birthday cards, Christmas cards and presents, and she is the first to send a text to check in on you. Now she needs our help.
Our older sister Mel helped Betsy a lot during her first battle with cancer, but she passed away unexpectedly in 2022. Betsy attends most of her appointments alone now, since we all live in other states.
Your donation would reduce Betsy’s financial burdens and help her feel less alone on this journey. It would allow her to focus on healing without the constant financial stress. We are truly grateful for any amount you can give to help our sister. If you’re unable to donate, sharing her story across your social networks can also make a huge impact.
Thank you for your support and consideration.
