As many of you may know, Elizabeth "Betsy" Dodge experienced a significant stroke on July 10, 2025. After 2 weeks at the University of Michigan Main Hospital, she was transferred to Chelsea Hospital to spend the next 5 weeks receiving daily occupational, physical, and speech therapy. Betsy has made significant strides and will continue to receive outpatient therapy. We have been made aware of an outstanding aphasia clinic at U of M. People come from all over the country to receive intensive services from the Mary A. Rackham Institute (mari.umich.edu). Each session is 4 weeks long and 5 hours a day. Insurance is not accepted and the cost of each session is $24,000. We are hoping to raise enough money for at least one session.
Many friends and family have been asking how they can help Betsy. Please consider donating to Betsy's GoFundMe page. These donations will go toward her treatment at the MARI clinic at U of M, home modifications not covered by insurance (there are many), private pay in-home care, etc.
Thank you for considering donating.
Peace, health, and love be with you, Betsy's family and friends.
