My Nana, Betsy Leeth, is a one-of-a-kind woman. She is fierce, smart, kind, beautiful, and the strongest person I know. In 1993, she lost her only daughter, Gin, in a car accident. In 2013, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a double mastectomy that led to many complications but came out on top and has been in remission ever since. In 2017, she lost her son, Jody (my daddy), to sudden cardiac death. After all this bad, my Nana and GP (her husband David) finally retired to their dream location on the beach, where they could continue to love and enjoy life together. However, now in 2024, she was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer-glioblastoma. Unfortunately, this is a very aggressive, incurable cancer. Since the diagnosis, she has had a craniotomy that removed 95% of the tumor. She underwent chemo and radiation right after and just recently finished up a double dose chemo treatment. She is now using a new treatment called Optune to hopefully give us some more time with her. This is a nasty beast that is already growing back and will continue to attack my Nana. For those of you that know them, they are not the type of people to ask for help, but they would give the shirts off their backs to help someone in need.
I am starting this to help relieve some of the burden of the medical bills that have already started to flood in. The surgery, chemo drugs, weekly doctor visits, blood draws, MRIs, and her Optune treatment are just piling up, and the last thing I want them to worry about is how they are going to get these bills paid. If you don’t want to donate on this platform but still want to help, please feel free to message me, and I will be happy to let you know what else they are in need of. We greatly appreciate any support in advance.
