WE HAVE REACHED THE HALFWAY FUNDRAISING MARK for Bethany’s Surgeries!!! Thank you so much if you have already donated, as we have now raised $2,546!!!
Bethany’s 1st of 2 heart surgeries is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 3rd at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. I will be there for a week to help her during her recovery period. We are happy to have reached this first scheduling mikestone! Once her two heart surgeries are competed and she’s recovered, her brain surgery will be scheduled.
If you have not yet donated, would you please help us reach the $5,000 goal by making a donation today? Even a small donation is welcome and makes a difference. If you are unable to donate, would you consider sharing this post on your Facebook page and including a brief message with it to your own Friends? Most importantly, we need your prayers for the surgeries and the fundraiser.
Thank you, and please call me if you have any Q’s at [phone redacted]. Blessings!

SHOWN BELOW IS THE ORIGINAL TEXT FROM JULY 4th WHEN THIS FUNDRAISER BEGAN – JUST IN CASE YOU DON'T REMEMBER THE DETAILS:
Bethany Morrow Gesswin is one of the most precious friends in my life and desperately needs brain & heart surgery to give her just a basic quality of life. We've known each other since 2014 and have many memories together, especially as single moms during much of this time.
Since her late 20’s, Bethany has suffered from seizures, migraines (so severe she passes out), and 3 heart attacks. She's had a stroke, a bleed on the brain, and still has a blood-clotting condition. As of July 2024, she will need her 3rd pacemaker. Needless to say, she is unable to be employed due to her condition. She has also been turned down 4 times for social security disability income. Amazingly, she has an incredibly positive attitude in light of this and all of her medical conditions.
Doctors at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee believe they can perform surgeries that will eliminate her migraines and fix the heart problem. Fortunately, Bethany is covered by the federal government's Marketplace Healthcare Insurance plan, so her surgery costs are mostly covered. She is only in need of $5,000 for both surgeries. We hope to raise more so she can use it toward her lodging in Nashville for follow-up doctor appointments, fuel to drive there, and medication she'll need after the surgeries.
In the main photo posted, Bethany is in Advent Hospital in Altamonte Springs, being visited by two young friends of hers. They were all singing, "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music. This silliness is typical of her infectious, joyful spirit to everyone she meets. She is truly an amazing woman.
Would you please consider giving just a small contribution for my precious friend that will enable her to have a decent quality of life for the first time in 25 years? Both Bethany and I will be so appreciative of your help and your involvement in restoring her to a better quality of life.
