BethAnn, an active and engaged community member, always helps others. Now, it’s our turn to return the favor.
For those who have seen her, it’s evident with her extreme weightloss that she is fighting a terrible and rare kidney disease that has her attached to a machine 23 hours a day.
She hasn’t been able to consume food since October 2023 and has relied solely on total parental nutrition…a life-changing hardship. Daily, she is restricted to four ounces of fluids as her stomach is paralyzed. Compound that with iv antibiotics and fluids for frequent infections. Currently, her weight is 91lbs.
Through it all, she continued to work 50 hours a week to save towards a procedure that can get her life back. Last week, however, she became very ill and ended up at Northern Dutchess hospital with sepsis and a serious bacteria in her blood. While being treated, her employer terminated her without even the decency of a phone call.
She now needs our financial assistance. Bethann requires IV antibiotics, on top of her regular treatment, two times a day as well as a specialized surgery to get her life back.
Only one percent of Americans have Circumaortic left renal vein compression. Not one doctor in her medical network has ever fixed this nor tried to reverse it.
If you know her, then you know that despite the endless hospital and doctor visits, along with her daily restrictions, she fights to stay positive, smile, and help others.
