Support Beth Priscott while she battles chronic illness

Last summer Beth began experiencing severe head pain, nausea, dizziness, weakness and a plethora of other debilitating symptoms which resulted in her taking time off work. After many confused doctors appointments, blood tests, scans, and hospital visits, there was finally a diagnosis - Chairi Malformation.

Chiari Malformation is a structural defect that results in the lower part of the brain pushing down into the spinal canal, restricting the flow of spinal fluid.

There is no cure - only medication to manage the pain, and decompression surgery (a surgery in which a piece of skull is removed to make more room for the brain). This is considered a major surgery, and doesn’t guarantee to relieve symptoms.

1 year on and there is very little progress. With months between appointments, miscommunication between the hospitals, incorrect medication and procedures, and multiple A&E visits, the end doesn’t appear to be any closer. Most recently, Beth has been bed bound and unable to carry out daily tasks. The pain is worse, and hope is dwindling.

I’ve created this fundraiser to help support Beth and her partner Seb with their monthly bills, and to start building a fund towards potential private medical care. With Beth being off work for over a year, they currently rely on ESA and Seb’s income to pay for their outgoings. Money is tight, and it’s unlikely Beth will be back to work in the near future.
