Hey y'all!

My name is Gavin Alsop, and I am an 8th-grade humanities teacher at Bessie Carmichael PreK-8 Filipino Education Center, the only public school that serves the SOMA neighborhood of San Francisco. I am in charge of our school's skateboard club. For our skateboard club, I am looking to acquire helmets and a multi-use ramp to use on-site for my kids when we conduct the skateboard club. Most of my kids are coming from low-income and/or resource-insecure backgrounds, and at school is often the only time they have access to the necessary resources to feel safe and enjoy themselves. Having both these helmets and the ramp would increase the number of student participants in the skateboard club and provide them with an actual obstacle to learn new skills and have fun on (currently they just have flat ground in the yard).
