Bessan and her two children, her husband, and her father are trapped in Gaza, and need your help to evacuate to safety.
Bessan is a mother and law student in Gaza, with two young children—Qusay, who is 4 years old, and Kamal, who was born at the beginning of this war. They are currently displaced, and living in dire humanitarian conditions in a makeshift tent with Bessan's husband and her father.
Growing up during the war
The rest of Bessan's family—her siblings and mother—successfully evacuated Gaza and traveled to Egypt, to seek medical treatment for her two younger brothers. Now they need to raise money to evacuate the rest of the family. The fees to cross into Egypt through Rafah are $5,000 for each adult, and $2500 for each child. Bessan and her family will need $20,000 total. The border crossing is currently closed, but they want to raise the money and be able to register as soon as the crossing reopens.
Unfortunately, many families in Gaza, including Bessan's, have lost their homes and their savings because of the war. They are asking for the support and kindness of anyone able and willing to help.
If they can reach safety in Egypt, they will be able to start rebuilding their lives and their futures—Bessan wants nothing more than to provide safety and comfort to her children. Qusay can attend preschool, and Bessan can finish her law degree. And they can reunite with the rest of her family.
Thank you to everyone who will contribute to their support.

This fundraiser is being organized by Maggie Wilder, on behalf of Bessan and her family, and at their request. I am in direct touch with Bessan and will be able to transfer the money directly to her once she reaches her fundraising goal. Thank you for taking the time to read about Bessan's story, and support a better future for Qusay and Kamal.
