Support Bert's Fight: ICU and Cancer Battle

On August 9th our dad, Bert, was admitted to the hospital after weeks of steadily declining. His journey began with cardiac surgeries in the beginning of the year and has led us to where he is now; the ICU fighting to stay with his family. While being treated for pneumonia and other issues related to his decline such as immobility and being unable to eat, he developed sepsis and was transferred to the ICU. There we got the news that our dad has lung cancer as well, but with his weakened state, no doctor would even consider offering treatment until we can get him stable. Currently we are in talks with his doctors to possibly ventilate him but there is uncertainty that he would be able to come off the machine. 

Our dad is the most hard-working, generous, kind-hearted man we know. At 77 years old he has worked the graveyard shift every day for the last 30 years to provide for his family, at times even working two jobs. Our mom has health issues of her own and is unable to work but she has spent every minute in the hospital since our dad was admitted. Our dad has a long and intense journey ahead of him with many unknowns and surely many setbacks along the way. Any donation, big or small, would help us keep our family afloat.

All donations will go towards our dad's medical expenses, speech and physical therapy, and future cancer treatments once he is strong enough to undergo them.
