Support Bert's Family Through Tough Times

Today is my 83rd birthday! For my birthday this year, I would like to support a good friend and his family facing a difficult struggle.

This is my friend, Bert, celebrating his 70th birthday. He will undergo radiation treatment for cancer over the next few months. Bert and his daughter are the caregivers for their wife and mother who had a spinal cord injury four years ago. His daughter has also faced health challenges, when soon after her graduation from university, she found herself recovering from a a head tumor surgery! I see the challenges this family will face when my friend starts his radiation treatment.

Situations like this cause me to God-wrestle. Here I am, with ample blessings in my life, with thoughtful and loving family, having another birthday. When I went through breast cancer treatment a few years ago, I relied so much on the help and support of my friends and family.

My friend and his daughter, live their caregiving days 24/7. Together, they lift their beloved wife and mother from bed to chair, wash and dress her, tend to her hygiene and move her body to keep her healthy. Their loving care for her inspires me daily.

I want to lift my friend up and help him cope while he receives draining radiation therapy. I want to help his daughter navigate the additional physical and mental stress of caring for her beloved parents.

Please help me raise some funds to help these wonderful friends in such a difficult time, it would bring such joy to be able to help them with a part-time caregiving helper for a few hours a day.
