My aunt is a compassionate registered nurse from Columbus, Ohio, who has spent her career caring for others. Now, it’s our turn to care for her. In 2017, she was diagnosed with rectal cancer. Despite the emotional and physical challenges, she faced it with courage and grace. In 2018, she underwent chemotherapy and radiation, and in 2021, she had surgery to remove her rectum, which resulted in her living with a colostomy bag. After surgery, her doctors joyfully declared her cancer-free.

For four years, she remained healthy, hopeful, and continued helping others through her work as a nurse. Unfortunately, her cancer has returned and metastasized to her lungs and brain. She is now undergoing treatment and showing signs of improvement, but this journey has taken a toll physically, emotionally, and financially.

My aunt has been accepted into a 17-day healing retreat at the Uchee Pines Institute in Seale, Alabama. Uchee Pines is a nonprofit wellness and lifestyle center that helps patients facing serious health challenges through natural therapies, plant-based nutrition, and holistic care. The program’s Level 1 Medical Guest stay costs $6,115, and a $500 deposit is required to secure her spot.

We are hoping to raise money to cover:

1. Her full 17-day treatment program at Uchee Pines

2. Travel expenses from Columbus, Ohio to Seale, Alabama

3. Lodging and meals surrounding her trip

4. Medical supplies , follow-up care and future treatments

5. Essential bills and living expenses
