Hi everyone,

Our family is facing one of the most challenging times of our lives. On October 4th, Bernie, underwent a double lung transplant—a truly life-saving surgery that has given him a second chance at life. While we are beyond grateful for this miracle, the recovery process is long, demanding, and financially overwhelming.

Right now, I need to be by Bernie's side 24/7, caring for him through every step of recovery. Doctors have required that he remains within 45 minutes of the hospital for at least three months, to ensure close medical monitoring and access to emergency care if needed.

This means being away from home, work, and normal routines—resulting in lost income and rising expenses of having to pay mortgage and bills at home and now rent twice the amount of our mortgage.

If anyone knows Bernie, they know he is all about his family and especially our kids. He is working hard to get better and be with them all soon!
