A Heartbreaking Story of Loss and Hope – Please Help Bernard’s Family

Today, I come to you with a heavy heart to share the story of Bernard and his wife, Giodany—a devoted couple whose lives have been turned upside down by unimaginable tragedy.

Bernard is a hardworking man from Haiti who loved nothing more than caring for his family and running his small business to provide for them. But in recent months, gangs have ravaged communities in Haiti, leaving destruction and fear in their path. Bernard and Giodany lost everything when their home and business were burned to the ground—everything they worked for, gone in an instant.

Even after this devastation, their faith never wavered. Their first thought was to protect their beloved identical twin daughters, 17-year-old Naela and her sister, from the growing violence. They moved the girls to what they believed was a safer location, praying for God’s protection over their lives.

But tragedy struck again. Naela fell ill with a fever that lingered for days. And this morning, Bernard and Giodany received the devastating news no parent should ever hear—their beautiful daughter Naela passed away suddenly.

There are no words to describe the heartbreak this family is enduring right now. Their world has been shattered. They have lost their home, their livelihood, and now, their precious child. Her twin sister is inconsolable, and Bernard and Giodany are facing a pain no parent should ever bear.

Through it all, they cling to God’s Word:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

Even in the darkest valley, they believe God is near. But this family needs our love, our prayers, and our support more than ever.

Una Historia de Pérdida y Esperanza – Por Favor Ayuda a la Familia de Bernard

Hoy me acerco a ustedes con el corazón cargado para compartir la historia de Bernard y su esposa, Giodany, una pareja fiel que está enfrentando una tragedia inimaginable.

Bernard es un hombre trabajador de Haití, que siempre se esforzó por cuidar de su familia y mantener su pequeño negocio para proveerles lo necesario.
