Berkley is a 2 1/2 year old little girl that was diagnosed in March of 2025 with Neuroblastoma which is a cancer that develops from immature neve cells in the sympathetic nervous system. Berkley started her journey of battling cancer at St. Jude. She went through 4 rounds of chemo but scans after revealed that her tumor was not responding. In June of 2025, Berkley underwent a surgery to have a partial resection of her tumor. We were told that they were only able to resect close to 50% of her tumor. We were told after her surgery that they did not feel like other treatments were an option at this time due to Berkey's tumor not responding to the initial treatment. Berkley has had scans done every 3 months since her surgery. The last scans she has in April showed that her tumor has grown 5%. Berkley's Curie score has always been a 1 but then went up to a 2. After surgery, it went back down to a 1 but then it also increased back to a 2 at her last scans. St. Jude said that they will not look into other treatment options until her tumor increases by 20-25%. We are so incredibly thankful for the care that we have received with St. Jude and all they have done for us. With that being said, we have decided to seek out a second opinion. We feel as though we owe this to Berkley to try and find a way for her to reach remission. We have thought long and hard on this and prayed so much for guidance. We reached out to Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York and requested an appointment. At first, Berkley's insurance would not cover out of state care, which is a reason we are so thankful for St. Jude because they do not send a single bill to patients! After working with Berkley's father's workplace, we were able to get her onto his insurance which will cover some of the treatment cost. We set this gofundme up last year to help with bills and funds to take care of the other siblings but we are sharing again this year to help with medical costs (we will still have to pay some out of pocket as it is with most insurances), housing and travel for Berkley, Courtney (Mother), Dillon (Father), and Burtyn (Berkley's twin brother), and groceries/food while they are there. Berkley has 6 siblings that think the world of her. She has her twin brother Burtyn and older siblings Zoey, Lexi, Addy, AJ, and Paisley. Burtyn will be traveling to New York with Berkley because they have a very special twin bond and do not do well without the other if they are apart for more than 24 hours. Berkley's other siblings will stay with their older sister, Zoey, and her fiance, Montana, while Berkley, Burtyn, Courtney, and Dillon are in New York. We appreciate every donation that we receive but the thing we ask for most is prayers for Berkley and our family.
