Hello everyone,

I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but a few weeks ago I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Treatment starts soon, and although I’m staying hopeful and doing everything I can, it’s going to be a challenge — physically, emotionally, and financially.

Even with health insurance, there are many costs that insurance won’t cover, or only covers partially. I’m facing:

• Deductibles, copays, and coinsurance

• Travel to and from medical appointments

• Lost wages (reduced hours/ taking time off work)

• Prescription medications and supplements

• Mental health therapy during and after treatment

• A small, healing getaway once I’m well enough, to help with emotional recovery
